Dr. Marbach attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas as a Biomedical Science major. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.
Dr. Marbach joined Friendship Pet Hospital and Wellness Center when it opened its doors in January 2011. She is proud of the quality of medicine offered as well as the special, detailed attention to patient care. She feels strongly that a whole body approach to wellness care is vital at every life stage. Dr. Marbach has a special interest in internal medicine, nutrition, senior health and preventative care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Marbach enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and spending time outdoors. She and her husband are proud parents of a beautiful daughter and are parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Selma, Texas. Both Dr. Marbach and her husband are originally from San Antonio and are blessed to have a large number of family members that reside in the area.
She is passionate about getting to know the Friendship veterinary family, people and pets alike.
Dr. Heron attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI as a business major. She is a retired US Navy Commander and graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995.
Dr. Heron has a strong interest in Emergency and feline medicine. She spent the last 6 years working as an emergency clinician in the San Antonio area and is happy to join the Friendship family.
When not at the clinic, she enjoys working out at the YMCA, traveling, reading and spending time with her busy family. She and her husband have three active children, one dog and three cats. They are partners in the gospel at Grace Church Episcopal in San Antonio.
Laurel started her experience in the veterinary field in emergency and now resides in day practice. She is a huge animal lover that has always wanted to work with animals from a young age and can think of nothing better. She has 3 four-legged babies, her very playful lovingly licky rescue Chihuahua Lily, laid back Calico Puddyface and beautiful blue kitty Olive who loves to fetch and sneakily steal bags of treats. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies/favorite TV shows and spending quality time with friends and family….. especially the furry ones.
Joan has been with the practice since it opened in January 2012. Prior to that she worked with several veterinarians in the area and volunteered at area shelters. Joan has had a love affair with animals as long as she can remember. Growing up in Southern Virginia she had horses, goats, chickens, ducks, cats, and dogs. She has raised and shown Irish Setters, English Cocker Spaniels and English Setters. Now she shares her home with four Russian Blue cats – Alexis, DeeNee, Marley and Smokey. When not working she enjoys reading, old movies, Soccer and watching football(especially the Texas Longhorns and Denver Broncos ). Her favorite times are spent working at her church and spending time with her grandchildren.
Lauren is a licensed veterinary technician who graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Palo Alto College in 2013. She is now continuing college courses with a major in Biology. She enjoys spending time with her 5 dogs and 1 kitty when she’s not working or studying. Her favorite breed of dog is the American Eskimo for it’s loyalty and energetic personality. Aside from working with and spending time with animals, Lauren enjoys outdoor activities, video games, and riding motorcycles.
